The journey started with forward-looking leadership from the Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner, who recognized the growing need for structured, community-driven wellness initiatives. Their belief was clear: when public institutions lead by example and walk alongside citizens, lasting impact follows.
What began as discussions around fitness and inclusivity soon transformed into action. With the support of local departments, law enforcement, health services, and volunteers, the first Mirpur Khas Marathon was organized. The overwhelming public response turned the event into an annual tradition.
Having successfully completed two marathons, Mirpur Khas Marathon 2026 proudly marks the third edition, carrying forward a growing legacy of participation, discipline, and unity.

One such story is Laali, whose outstanding performance at the Mirpur Khas Marathon earned her first position in her category. Her dedication and discipline led to her induction into the Pakistan Army, making her a symbol of how sport can open doors to opportunity and national service.
Miss Laali, an 18-years-old resident of Magho Patel Village in Union Council Jhaluri 1, was a part of the stitching skill training course organized by CSSP in the 2019 batch. Following the successful conpletion of her three-month stitching course and her ongoing pursuit of education, Laali emerged as a talented and dedicated girl in her community.
Beyond her dedication to learning and studying, Laali showcased versatile talents through active by actively engaging in sports activities at the grassroots level. In 2019, she seized the opportunity to partake in a local sports festival and her tenacity and competitive spirit propelled her to secure 1st position in the fiercely contested spoon race copetition.
Ms. Laali’s steadfast commitment remained resolute as she persistently pursued her stitching work at the Rozgar Center Magho Patel, all while actively contributing to community initiatives. Her unwavering dedication was further evident in her enthusiastic participation in diverse project undertakings. Notably, her active involvement as a young girl in the connunity group meetings at Magho Patel Village exemplifies her fervent dedication to collaborative efforts aimed at igniting positive change within her community.
In a remarkable feat of athleticism, Ms. Laali took part in the 1st Commissioner Marathon Race in 2024, helf in Mirpurkhas. Despite daunting challenge and the faze of thousands of spectators, her confidence remained unshaken. Through sheer determination, she not only clinched the 1st position but also garnered the admiration of key dignitaries including the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and other key stakeholders, The triumph not only underscored her didication but also epitomized her indomitable will to excel in every endeavor she undertakes.
Ms. Laali received widespread acclaim from government officials, civil society activists, media personalities, senators, and elected representatives, who visited her village and encouraged her to continue participating in sports while pursuing her education. The commendations were further highlighted on their social network pages, Youtube channels, and other electronic media channels.
Recognizing her extraordinary potential, the district administration took the proactive step and appealed to civil society, philanthropists and NGOs including CSSP to promote and provide both technical and financial support not only for Laali but also for her family.
